Do you have a sparse and patchy beard? This is how we can help fix it!
Anyone attempts to grow a beard, ideally wants a thick and uniform beard. But sometimes genetics intervenes and the result is not nearly what we want. Spotty, sparse, and not at all the right color. The good news is that there’s a solution for every problem… well at least to this one, there is. Most of the time these types of situations can be salvaged and a full beard can be created even from patchy facial hair.
Patchy beard
Many men suffer from the problem that their beard does not grow uniformly. In most cases, there are patches of incompleteness on the surface, which at first glance may seem difficult to remedy. But what causes the unevn patches in the first place, and what is the solution?

Give your beard time
Facial hair does not grow at a uniform rate! There are and always will be longer and shorter threads. Patches are not always an indication of incomplete hair growth. If you’re just getting started, give your beard time to grow. It takes at least 4 weeks before all the hairs START to grow. This means that in most places you may already have a couple of centimetres of beard, but in some places it may not start to grow until after 4 weeks. So wait at least 6 weeks and only then start panicking, if you have to.
If after 6 weeks the patches still haven’t started to grow hair, a solution must be found. There are several options, starting with the most natural one.
#1. Choose a longer shape
If you want to keep your patches invisible, you should try a longer beard first. The longer your beard, the more the hairs come together and are able to “pull” each other in so that they cover the patch(es). There are many fashionable and masculine long beard styles, you’re sure to find the one for you! If you need help, at G-cutz barber shop we can help you decide which style would best suit your face shape and hairstyle!
#2. Beard dyeing
Natural-looking beard tinting is proven to have a positive impact on appearance. A well-done tint can make your beard look thicker and fuller. This solution is often enough to say goodbye to patches! In our shop we only do beard dyes in brown and black shades.

With us, you don’t have to worry about ending up with a fake beard look! We only do natural-looking beard tinting, so nobody will even tell you that you’ve had a tint, they might ask you though, what makes your beard look so good?!
#3. Minoxidil
It’s a little miracle product in a box that you should try at least once if you’re struggling with bald patches or sparse beards. Minoxidil is a product that induces hair growth.
Here’s how to use minoxidil: Measure out a dose of the product and apply it to the critical area. It can be a patch, but it can also be your entire beard. Leave on for 4 hours, then rinse thoroughly. Wait another 4 hours, then repeat the process. Again, measure out a dose, apply to the desired area, leave on for another 4 hours, then wash off thoroughly.
IMPORTANT: The use of minoxidil is only effective if you use it regularly. If you only put it on the occasional day when you don’t forget, it won’t be effective!

Be honest with yourself
We may want a lush and robust beard, but sometimes we may have to accept what we were dealt. If you feel like you’ve done everything you can to grow a thicker beard, but you’re not getting results, you should accept it and find another solution.
#1. Choose a style that suits you
It might not be a full beard, but it doesn’t have to be. If your beard allows for a different style, embrace it and make the most of it! There are a number of beard styles that don’t require you to have the tick and even beard and still you can achieve 100% results without it.
